Chemistry Lab Auditorium Renovation Cornell University Ithaca, NY
This project includes the complete renovation of one of the largest instructional spaces on campus. The building was originally constructed in 1921, and the room was last renovated in 1968. The 500-seat auditorium primarily serves the Chemistry Department but many large classes from other departments are also hosted. Other events, such as alumni gatherings, student groups, graduation, and testing will be accommodated by a flexible lectern and demonstration benches at the front of the room. A demonstration fume hood will also be included and concealed when not in use. The renovated 5,000sf space will have all new finishes, modern lighting, and audiovisual systems, as well as new seating installed on a new ADA-compliant floor slope.
